NLGI is consistency, not total quality
NLGI grades describe how firm or soft a grease is. They do not define base-oil viscosity, load capacity, water resistance, oxidation life, or overall suitability.
Why grades 0, 1, and 2 differ
Softer grades can improve pumpability in centralized systems and cooler conditions. Firmer grades can improve retention but may increase drag or line pressure.
Select with the full operating profile
Use OEM guidance, bearing speed, load, temperature, monsoon moisture, sealing, line length, and base-oil viscosity before choosing or changing NLGI grade.
