Do not assume compatibility
Lithium and calcium families include different complex systems, base oils, and additives. Mixing can cause softening, hardening, oil separation, or loss of performance.
Use supplier data or testing
Review compatibility charts for the exact products and, for critical equipment, use laboratory compatibility testing under relevant ratios and temperatures.
When data is unavailable
Clean or purge the old grease, apply the correct quantity, and monitor temperature, leakage, noise, and consistency closely during conversion.
