Start with the lubrication point
A high-speed spindle bearing, slow loaded pin, and wet conveyor bearing need different base-oil viscosity, consistency, and additive balance. “Metalworking grease” is not one universal specification.
Check contamination and process exposure
Metal fines, coolant, water, heat, and cleaning chemicals influence sealing, corrosion protection, washout resistance, and relubrication frequency.
Provide data for a recommendation
Share equipment model, bearing type, speed, load, temperature, existing grease, failure mode, and application method. This prevents selection based only on a product name.
