Separate slow loaded and high-speed points
Pins and bushings need load carrying and adhesion; motor and bearing points need correct viscosity, speed capability, and controlled quantity.
Design for contamination
Dust, water, rain, and mud require sealing, corrosion protection, washout resistance, clean transfer tools, and inspection of exposed points.
Set intervals from duty
Use operating hours, rainfall, washdown, temperature, vibration, and grease condition. A single fleet-wide interval can under-lubricate harsh points and over-grease others.
